OK I'm convinced . . . too big is never big enough!

The search is on . . . criteria:
22' or 24'
Left side door
5000lb axles
Quality name brand
any other extra would be nice.

I'll let you know what I turn up.

Sorry, doesn't meet the criteria. No hurry - I have plenty of time to be picky.

This is what I'm looking for - sadly it is sold. :(

That's a great looking trailer and similar to what we got for $6k. But be forewarned, you will eventually consider upgrading to 5k axles. Not terribly expensive but a hassle.

When we first went across the scales (with a 2000 lb car in it, mind you) and saw 9100lb on the trailer weight, we were bit surprised.

1) Don't fugh around with 3500# axles. Brakes are bigger on 5200# axles.

2) Dovetail

3) Anything under 24 foot is regrettable.

I have a 18' foot Homesteader. It has cabinets and two 5200# axles. Wired for lights and power. It is a sturdy trailer and it has been from Watkins Glen to PBIR. Several times............

I have loaded it to the ceiling and it works but dammit if I don't wish I had purchased a 24' when I made the move.

If you are dead set on buying small Cash..... maybe we should talk. I'll consider a reasonable offer. Hurry up please as I'd like to get me new trailer before year end as I could use the write-off.

Nice trailer, that should do it. You will not get any flaming from me about the size. I’m actually thinking about downsizing to be able to use a smaller tow vehicle.
Something in those style mainly the RS3 http://www.brianjames.co.uk/range/range ... id=&rid=15
Will need to search if someone is making something in that style in the US.

That's pretty cool. Have you seen this one? Made in the USA.

Yeah, crazy huh? I beleive its primary purpose is to show to the wife and say, "That is what I'd like, but I can get by with this other one."

Yes I remember seeing it some time ago, nice, but 24k, no thank you.
If there is nothing available and I really decide to go that route I will buy an open trailer and do the clamshell cover myself.

Here's one made in the USA that has a similar clamshell design:
