isnt the chevy nova of that same year group a toyota corolla rwd in disguise. it has the same 4ag engine as the famous hachi roku. a former girlfreind of mine had one. yes, i had one in high school. i drove it, did donuts. anyhow, according to memory it was FR just like the toyota, but had different slightly the body.it could be great too, rwd on a budget with the right motor.

The Nova shared the FWD corolla platform (so did the GEO Prism). The RWD corolla has enough of a fan base that the prices will be inflated compared to other similar vintage RWD cars. You might have better luck with a 85 and older Celica/Supra or some nissan offerings (200SX?).

A mustang or camaro would be much more cost effective than anything japanese.
