I LOVED this movie when I was a kid. I must have watched it 10 times and never owned it on VHS, there was a period of time there in the 80s when it was a very popular Sunday afternoon network airing. Must have shown it every couple months. I watched it again a few years ago, first time in decades, and I must say it actually holds up pretty damn well, it does a masterful job of building tension and the conclusion is simply awesome. You know this was a Steven Spielberg film right? It was his first full length film.

This is how I saw it too, on a Sunday afternoon deal on TBS or something like that. I've seen it a few times since and it's awesome still. I found out much later that it was Stephen Spielberg. The reason I voted for this one is the ENTIRE movie is essentially a chase scene, albeit some of the time it's a slow one :) - AB

I think its those "slow" chase parts that make the movie, that POS car of his smoking and chugging up the hill with the semi closing, the driver's frustration and terror, man, makes me wanna go watch it again. I can still clearly remember the thrill I would get on those Sunday afternoons when I clicked on the TV and saw the "Duel" was on again.

Duel is not online with Netflix anymore. They purged a lot of movies recently and say that most people are watching TV shows and not movies online. :(
