I played when I was in high school. I really liked it - it's pretty much the only traditional sport I've ever enjoyed. I still watch on TV when I think to. I've tried picking it back up a few times over the years since, but never had the arm strength to do it. Now that I'm in pretty good shape, I could probably manage okay. Only problem is that you live REAL far away from me, and in about four months, I won't have spare time for anything ever.

Err, as an FYI, having kids doesn't mean the end of your spare time. It's harder, but it's a good idea to manage it through good scheduling to make sure you
ALWAYS have your next "me time" scheduled in, even if it's not as often as it was or as often as you'd like. Work with your wife so that EACH of you has that time scheduled in each week, as well as family time. You'll be much happier that way.
Something like tennis is perfect because it's just about always possible to find a court somewhere and you only need ONE other person to agree to do it with you. Weather is a bit of a problem, however, and having a back-up plan for something to do if you have to cancel tennis is a good thing.

I agree to the bolded part of that statement. You'll go nutz if you try to do the daddy thing 100% of the time. Both you and the wife are going to need some down time, either together or apart. It's not sacrilege, it's necessary to keep a healthy perspective. You can still be a great dad and keep in touch w/ friends, been there, done that....
So Karl, you up for some tennis? We can meet half way somewhere....
