So after a five year frame off restoration and only driving the car 2,500 miles since finishing it in February, I have sold my 1970 Corvette to fund my HPDE and autocross addiction. It left today at 11:30 and I am trying not to cry at work. I think I may drink a few beers in her stall in the garage tonight and sit on the floor

Here is to many new driving experiences and trying not to blow the cash on the thousands of cars I already looked at this morning on ebay.

Goodbye old friend!

You should buy a C7 to feel better.

That. Looks. Awesome. Great job on the resto! That era Stingray is the one I want, if I had the space.

Currently in the same boat with the Z. I've had it since 2004, so it's weird thinking of it not being there. Unfortunately, the garage is not growing larger. I regretted selling my first Z back in fall of 1988 (for a 1st gen Prelude) so I'd hate to make the same mistake twice.

After a couple HPDE I hope you're left with good memories and no regrets!

I am with Les on this one. Or driving the snot out of a C4 or 5 should help to ease the pain.

Al least you still have the 2004 Z06, take it up for a ride...

Nice looking car.

Reminds me of the 69 427/390 4 speed convertible my uncle had in the late 90's in S Fla. I wanted to buy that car but couldn't put the $$ together, or justify the purchase since it wasn't a very practical DD.

I think he sold it for ~$4k, and he was surprised that the guy who bought it paid with a big pile of cash.

I drove the Z06 around when I got home and already feel better, but a C7 sure would help ease the pain more

I'm full of good ideas like that, its uncanny really, and they never involve buying Honduhs. :) Of course I don't feel nearly as bad for you now I know you have a C5Z, selling mine was the worst idea I ever had, do not sell it.

You can tell our kind, we don't have buyers remorse, only Seller's Remorse.

At least you sold it for a good cause. I know someone who has a 71 small block in the same color. Needs some work but has the metal bumpers.

So is it screwed up if the first thing I thought of was, gee I wonder if that guy would sell me his '71?
