I find it amazing that Elon Musk had to personally give test drives to the NC governor and speaker of the house in order to be able to sell cars here.

I find it amazing that Elon Musk had to personally give trunks full of money to the NC governor and speaker of the house in order to be able to sell cars here.

Fixed that for you.

And I'm glad that he shut down the dealer's association.

That might have happened, but is there any proof that money changed hands?

I think they either figured out that banning Tesla's business model was a stretch for even this crowd of Big Government "conservatives" that claims it is for free enterprise or Tesla pointed out that all it had to do was title them first in another state and sell them as used cars in NC from outside the state. If they tried to stop that . . . oh boy.

Of course the real problem with Tesla is that Obama supports the idea of electric cars

Politicians were involved. You need more proof than that?

Of course I don't have proof, nor do I really believe that he paid them off. I seriously doubt he could compete against the politician buying power of the dealers.

To have a legitimate discussion, it just doesn't make sense for the federal gov. to loan them money, and then have the states ban the sell of the cars. The politicians made the right decision, in my mind. Regardless of how they came to their conclusion.

I don't care. They still don't sound right when you blip the throttle.
