Post 'em up!

I was going thru my files and found this:

Image

Drifting my '67 Firebird around a cone with the SCCA Muhud Region (Albany, NY) back in 1995. Complete with "ESP 16" on the windshield! Pretty sure I missed that cone.

I need to get that car back on the road.

Ok I'll play

Oldest I found is from a L'burg autocross back in 1998 in my 97 GSR

Image

But the coolest old pic HAS to be this No Gum Racing team shot from 2000 at eternal last-ever Rocky Mount. Clockwise from the red bimmer is me (1989 325is), Kendra (my wife, 1995 325i), Shawn Whipple (2000 ITR), Diane Hall (1995 Miata R), Karl Shultz (1995 GSR) and Matt Nicholson (1993 SE-R) at the center of the universe.

Who says there's no gold in Rocky Mt?

Thanks to Steve "Spam" for these!

Not from an autocross, but it dates the timeframe. This was taken in 2001 No RBC building and the convention center is under construction.

SARRC/MARRS VIR 2003. This is the earliest I could find for track...still had the novice "X" at the time.

Wow, look how big the trees had grown at Rocky Mt!

Look how small they were 11 years earlier :) That's me in May 1989, probably my 3rd autocross.

Lots of "my first time" shots from Rocky Mount, here is my art deco Z24

That has to be from 1998, I think

I actually have some pictures from my very first autocross which was in Atlanta at Perimeter Mall in the fall of 1976. Check out some of the cars in the background of the second pic. :) Time warp time...

I have some from Rocky Mount airport from 1978-1983 time frame, but I've not scanned them yet. I do have this one from a THSCC autox at the NC State Fairgrounds circa 1983 (check out the profile of the tires  ).

Image

I did my first track event in 1981 at Road Atlanta but haven't scanned pictures yet. Here is the earliest one I have scanned from Summit Point in 1985 (at least by this time I had 16" wheels...anything bigger was still a few years away):

I miss seeing that car at events. By the way, what happened to the old school bus?

Pretty sure we sold the old bus to a farmer.

Kids entering college + too much work to do the car = being sold.

Wow, what a great shot and someone rocking the Pacer no less! That is truly a blast from the past. BTW, that's some pretty serious yawl rate on the Capri....and I thought my cutlass was bad!
