Something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Serpentine-Belt-T ... p_t_3_HP57

I need to change the serpentine belt on a 2002 Cooper S and apparently, as expected, it needs some stupid tool.

Thanks!!!

I've got that, only problem I'm in Greenville. I have done it with out it by cutting sections of a 5mm (i think it was about 10 years ago) hex bit and putting in the hole of one of the pulleys and then using a large screwdriver for leverage. Look on Northamericanmotoring and you can probably find more info.

If you can get somebody to pick it up though you are more than welcome to borrow it though!

Yup, no other way to do it. See if one of the local parts places has one you can rent.

If you weld you could make the tool pretty easily, I could give you the measurements.

You haven't changed your serpentine belt in 10 years?

I did it 10 years the first time I changed the pulley on my first mini. Now I have the tool!.
I'm getting ready to do it again when I go into change the o-ring on the water pump, but that's another story.
