OMG, I'm so sad to hear this. Don was truly one of the most genuinely good guys I've ever know. I remember the first day I met him at a THSCC meeting many years ago with his red Mustang that he had participated in the Silver State Classic in Nevada with and talking of the FF Cobra he was preparing to build at the time which became the yellow beast we all know and love. I remember thinking that this was one cool old dude who lived life well and clearly loved cars, I wanted to be like Don when I grew up. I will miss his friendly face and warm greetings and consider it a privilege to have know him. I'll miss seeing that yellow Cobra at events. I will miss his witty approach to meeting minutes that we were just getting to know. I'm saddened that I just left the state and will not be able to honor his life attending his funeral. RIP Don Ingerslew, you will not soon be forgotten.

If it hasn't already been suggested I would like to suggest that we retire his #64 as we have in the past for honored members and add a tribute entry on the website linked from the front page like we have for John Mullis and Gene Miller.

I'm speechless. One of the first in Tarheel to say hello and shake my hand. Extremely nice guy who will be missed greatly. So glad to read how many other lives he touched in so many ways.

Very sad. Another "I can't believe he's gone". Don was a great guy, I learned something new *every time* I talked to him. Life experiences count for something and Don had a ton of them. A true gentleman who often put others ahead of himself.
Thoughts and prayers for his family.
I'll be at the funeral on Friday.

Frank

Truly shocking. This reminds me of when John Mullis died suddenly. I'll be there. By all means he should be added to the other two THSCC giants we honor.

There's not much that I can say that hasn't already been said. Don was one of the most thoughtful and giving people we had in the club. I've seen him spend his entire day at an autocross helping a newcomer to the sport and to the club, taking him under his wing. Don didn't even think about it. It was automatic.

Les said it very well: "I wanted to be like Don when I grew up." Not just because he was having fun and playing with cars, but because he was a good man.

I regret that we will be out of town this weekend and unable to attend the service.

What terrible news, reiterating what everyone else has already said that Don was a great guy with a smile always on his face ready to help anyone.

Stephen, I plan on being there Friday as well. Still have to clear it with my boss but it typically isn't an issue.

I met Don at Rockingham in 2005. We chatted at the first event and then talked more the second event. He was just one of those guys you were glad to see at an event. I too will be out of town this weekend, but I'll be thinking of him. RIP Don.

I met Don at my first HPDE. I was a total noob and brought POS street pads to VIR-S, which I soon set on fire. I didn't know a single person and Don came over asked if he could help. Thanks to his help I was able to drive my car back home.

Don was a great guy and always very helpful to everyone. He will surely be missed. RIP Don.
