Hi everyone,
My membership was approved last week. I ran my first few events with tarheel and triad last year and am hooked. My car is a 95 miata converted to something like an r-package. Manual everything, 195 star specs on rpf1s, fatcat re-valved NA bilsteins, and I have pulled parts out that put me into DP (slowest DP car ever!). I also have a stock 2012 mazda2 that I want to autox some time this year.
I am in chapel hill right now but am in the process of buying a house in durham (near nana taco). If anyone wants help working on their car I would be glad to assist. I'm no mechanic but I can follow directions and turn a wrench.

Also, if anyone has mig welding equipment and wants to teach me in exchange for lots of beer...

welcome aboard my freind. I was the one who was there saturday in the black bmw 3. I would have been there sunday, but caught a bug saturday nite.
Got very unpleasent to put it mildly. I typically rallycross and such. If you wish, sandblast rally is looking for volunteers to help work the event. I am going to go with my father in my wrx . but any car is welcome.

Welcome Alec,

You'll find your new location is close to lots of THSCC members. There is a cluster of us in Durham near Southpoint (you'd fall into this) and a cluster in N. Durham as well. Lots of 'let us install parts on <insert name here>'s car and drink beer' around here :).

Run CSP; nobody really cares.

Also a 1.8L NA and a Mazda2 is my gimmick. Who approved this nerd?

Welcome aboard again my freind. Wiggle your way to into a seat of a rallycross car and you may never go back to pavement! The wrx is sorta not so great on asphalt , its top heavy and understeery. But on dirt it comes alive, and is sideways all day long.Miata is good car to learn on,sports and compacts or whatever its called on hillborough street does mazda miata stuff too.I will be running dsp tire .in a black bmw e30 this year with my father. So good handling but not overly powerful cars unite.I kept waiting for the turbo n my wrx to kick in with the bmw, only to remember thats it, thats all you get.It was still enough to get sideways almost everywhere, 10 year old tires cold temperatures and wet pavement are great.
