Jeb,
Slightly off-topic...do you know if DT will be stocking the new BFG Rival or Bridgestone "RE-11A" tires?

Plus, I'll be coming by Friday to swap out some tires...hopefully you can squeeze me in your schedule!

dude that was SO yesterday at 2pm.

By 5pm someone posted a pic of a digital gauge measuring them to be 0.23", or 7.4/32". It'll be fun watching SCCA and BFG squirm around this for the next few days or so, but I suspect they will be "made to be" legal. Anyway, they are legal for RT regardless of depth, and the 255s are nosebleed pricing of $230 each, so I'm not interested in them at that price. The 245s are priced more in Z II territory.

Plus 1 for Jeb. Anyone who can deal with cantilever FF rear tires on deep offset spun aluminum 3 piece wheels certainly has the skills and equipment to handle yours.

Also, if you've never seen a well managed Discount Tire Store you are likely to be impressed by both the people and the facility.

I agree with Dick on this sentiment. There are two DT's that were close by to my old house. One was completely mismanaged and a place that you wouldn't ever want to do business with. The other was clean, well managed, friendly and punctual. They would mount my 295 Hoosiers on my STi in 40 minutes, while I waited without every even putting a scratch on my rims. The mount and dismount was $10 each too :) - AB

If you get Jeb to do it. I got qouted a crazy price once, for doing some autocross compound tires for my wrx. I went to AAA and they did not know what a slick tire was. They said it was no good because it had no tread. So be mindful, if you get Jeb to do it then you get top work every time. He has even done work for my mother and her 528i sedan. He does stuff for me when I g et dirt in my bead, at rallycrosses. Which are coming up btw, everyone sign up!Jeb is top work everytime, Performance chassis will do it if its not a rallycross tire.Sometimes I dont recognize him right off, and say something stupid.. But he tolerates me! Performance chassis did the tires on our f250, you should have seen them do the mounting inflation with those big tires. The pop you heard when it went on was loud.

Wait.. when did BFG introduce a new tire? It sure looks like an old R1 224/226/230. Any idea how it compares to the RT favorites? I just so happen to have lovely vintage BFG Team T/A magnetics on my refrigerator, ready and waiting for action :D

Just released this past week. According to BFG-sponsored event in New Orleans, it was awesomer than the other tires (R1R, RS3, and Falken 615) they compared them against (shocked, right?). Rumor is they are faster than ZIIs, but it is probably smarter to wait until a relatively neutral third party does legitimate testing.

Any major car forum probably has a thread about it by now.
