I haven't had any resolutions over the past few years, but somethings got to give for this year. I have a few things I'd like to achieve in '13. My top 10 are....

> loose weight. Have about 25lb I'd like to shed. Getting back to 210 would be assume...
> whoa up on the beer. I bitch about money, but looking at the bucks I spend there would almost be a car payment  . Time to save the suds for weekends
> work out. I have SOOO MUCH workout stuff here at the house. Now that I'm working from home, I think it's time to start making better use of it.
> Make some beer. I have 2 kits and haven't used either, so time to get them dirty.
> sell the Bullitt. Been listed for almost 4 weeks and not the first call. Time to rework the ad.
> start paying off credit cards. I look at all the money I've spent on car related stuff over the years and it's shocking. I'm going low on the car budget for the next 2 years then I start saving for a nice e90 M3 or Audi or Merc (sorry VK, need a car w/ a CEL). In retrospect, If I'd just kept the Cutlass and reworked it, I'd come out much cheaper in the long run and had a nice car in the end.
> clean up my freaking home office. Looks like one of those rooms on the show HOARDERS. Time to get rid of crap and make it a nice place to work
> extend the screened in porch for a little more bug free outside space
> find a new job. Not particularly happy with where I landed after the Duke/PE merger
> complete all the mechanical repairs on the e30.

Looks like I have enough to keep me busy for a while...

BTW, happy New Years!!

nice--thanks for sharing! So many of yours seem to be intertwined, I bet that once you get started with one the others will fall into place easily!

Here's a few of my goals for 2013:
(1) Golf handicap down to 7 (currently 10)
(2) Average Top 10 PAX over the season, trophy at NCAC
(3) Organize the attic, donate unused stuff--clear out the clutter!
(4) Get the Z back up and running
(5) 2-3 family photo books done, and hopefully 1-2 of each kid.

Here's to a better 2013!

1) Nothing I will even remotely come close to fulfilling.

2) Lighten up on Short and his AutoX obsession.

Good post and good luck to all!

My goals/resolutions.
1) Get back on the road bike and get in good enough shape to do a 50 mile ride.
2) Lose about 40 pounds (well after Christmas 50 lbs  ) Shouldn't be too hard if I do #1
3) Win C-stock season points and compete for Tarheel's 2nd tallest year end trophy.
4) Reduce the clutter/unused stuff around the house.
5) Spend more time on artwork.
6) Maintain my beer drinking pace.

-restructure my job responsibilites to focus on commercial playground sales instead of residential to avoid working weekends for the 12th season. Otherwise, career change time to something automotive or sports related ideally
-spend more family time, more trips, and teach Henry how to ride a bike without training wheels
-paint house exterior
-fire Time Warner and fiiiiinally get a Roku
-pay off wife's student loan (check's in mail tomorrow!)
-Car budget control: no buying or selling more cars and just enjoy the two that are paid for. Once I have the v710's and Bilsteins, that's it... Well maybe a rear bar too..
-Hit two National Tours again hopefully
-Do an HPDE at VIR with the club
-Run 2x the weaksauce mileage I did in '12 and have fun doing a handful of mtb races with the new team

Sadly part of my weight loss strategy (in addition to drinking less) is playing video games :). My wife urged me to get the kinect for the xbox and its absurd how good a work out you get playing the sports game. I found my old heart rate monitor and doing a single session of the track and field events was 658 calories. I prefer the ping pong and even that is in the 200ish calories per 15 minute match. Volley ball is very fun but not great at cardio by your arm gets a work out from all the spiking and your legs from jumping ;).

 It's not absurd at all, especially when you go to Dick's SportingGoods and see the ridiculous number of fitness-related titles. My kids are sweating after playing Kinect Sports, especially the track and field stuff. As a gamernerd I obviously approve.

I am still using my P90X/P90X2 and Insanity workouts, so I don't use the Xbox stuff...yet. New Year's always brings out the fitness equipment sales, so I'm looking at getting adjustable dumbbells instead.

One big one Declutter my life.

Problem is knowing what that means. Do I need 5 cars, two motorcylce, 4 watches. No but will I get rid of them? I've been very philosophical as of late, deciding I don't want my things to control me but I can't quite get to the point of divesting my self of them.

On the Weight loss thing, here is the secret http://www.marksdailyapple.com/#axzz2Gpo6QGdP Basically, it is a paleo diet. I've been doing it for about three months. I am not very strict, still drinking beer, don't do the entire organic deal but I feel great and am at the lowest weight in a long while with out "dieting"

Here are ten cool auto related ones from ole Jalopnik. Man, if I came home with tickets to Monaco my wife would freak out. In a good way, of course.

Happy New Year THSCC!

wow...while it looks like fun, I'm pretty sure you'd never catch me in a similar photo that accompanies #9....no helmets AND letting your tyke steer the donorcycle? No thanks.

Yeah, could they have used a more ridiculous photo? I thought it was photoshopped at first until I saw the foreign front plate. I thought seeing bikers with no helmets in SC was crazy until this doozie!

* Loose a bit of weight
* Pay off some debt
* Drive the Nurburgring Nordschleife (looks like that is going to happen this year as the wife and I are planning a trip)
* Spend more time on getting the 914 done
* Attend a LeMons/Chump event (probably will crew at least once this year)
* Do a real DEEP cleanup of my garage (straighten up/put away stuff doesn't count)
* Complete the rebuild on the transmission my Honda Odyssey (I rebuilt it myself late last year and am having issues with 1st gear. :( )

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

-Brew 6 batches of beer
-run at least 10 competitive races and over 500 miles
-Average a top 10 PAX finish at THSCC events
-participate in NCAC again
-Declutter (still trying to come up with a specific measurable target for this one)
