In our house I go through occasional ICE (Intermittent Cleaning Explosions) events where I get fed up with all the stuff lying around, and then blitz through the house haphazardly throwing away (or threatening to toss) anything that's left out, including my crap as I'm probably the worst offender. They typically happen every couple months, so if I can decrease the ICE event rate to once or twice a year I'll call it an improvement. For the attic, it's as simple as "Can I see more of the floor?"

I'll make an addendum so it is official. Get my CB350f, road worthy. The first iteration will be driveable and safe rat bike, if I like that I may go full on Cafe.

Personal goals for 2013:
  • Make use of the mountain bike, trailer hitch, and bike rack that I bought in 2012 to get healthier (losing weight would be great but I see improving my health as the primary goal).
  • Drink beer only socially, eliminate the mindless "I'm off work, time to drink a beer" routine that I have been accustomed to. (Multi-day autocross events are obviously excluded from any drinking limitations).
  • Find, purchase, and move to a smaller, cheaper house.
  • Represent THSCC well and improve the autocross program.

Motorsports goals for 2013:
  • Continue beating James.
  • Get an FTD.
  • Attend at least one national tour event with numerous awesome friends.
  • Attempt another NCAC STR class win, try not to get beat my my codriver by seven hundredths of a second.
  • Race karts as much as possible. Having done a couple enduros last year I realized that not only are they an absolute blast, it's good exercise (arms/shoulders/chest hurts for days afterwards), and good practice for wheel to wheel racing. All-you-can-kart Thursdays at Rush Hour are also good for burning some calories and having hours of fun for under $50.
  • Continue doing HPDE events and work on consistent lap times within 1 second of my PB.
  • Drive a new track (CMP or RA).
  • Pursue becoming an HPDE instructor.
  • Make the E30 Spec legal. Roll cage & trailer are first on the list.

Looking back on 2012, it was a pretty great year for me. I didn't get everything accomplished that I wanted to, but it was definitely my best year yet for my racing career.
  • Autocrossed at least once during every month of the year.
  • Attended my first National Tour, learned a lot and had a blast even though I didn't place very well.
  • Very happy with my THSCC autox performance as evidenced by the Dishman & Topgun awards that I now have to explain its massive size to those who come to my house.
  • Beat the "Future National STR Champion" at NCAC.
  • Won a NASA kart enduro at VIR with Noah and Emmon.
  • Got my personal best lap down to 2:23.88 on VIR-F.
  • Signed off for solo HPDE.
  • Got to experience my first real bad day at the track, with the car breaking 10 minutes into the first session on Saturday. Subsequently learned a LOT from Aaron and others while rebuilding the cylinder head in my garage.
  • Bought a tow vehicle.

Failed to appropriately congratulate you for that, BTW.

Sadly part of my weight loss strategy (in addition to drinking less) is playing video games :). My wife urged me to get the kinect for the xbox and its absurd how good a work out you get playing the sports game. I found my old heart rate monitor and doing a single session of the track and field events was 658 calories. I prefer the ping pong and even that is in the 200ish calories per 15 minute match. Volley ball is very fun but not great at cardio by your arm gets a work out from all the spiking and your legs from jumping ;).

Uhm, X-Box and beer while exercising. It can be done, trust me. Much safer than chainsaw and beer. Ask me how I know. And I have probably 15 years on you.........

Like most, I have a to-do-list that at times seems overwhelming, but here are the goals 2013:

Lose 25lbs
Buy no more cars or motorcycles
Sell the Subaru and Suzuki
Spend no more money on Mods for the Bullitt or the Mazda6
Attend 4 HPDE events (I’m already gonna miss the April event due to a vacation booked over a year ago) :(
Attend/crew 2 Chump/Lemons events
Get much smoother with throttle, brake and steering inputs at the track
Do electrical and compressed air upgrades in the garage (inspired by VK)
Build new deck at the house
Find a nice enclosed trailer for a steal
Teardown and restore the Motto Guzzi
Begin section hiking the Appalachian Trail – 4days at a time

I have a HUGE 'to-do list' like Cash, but I've never made a NYR in my life, and I intend to keep it that way.

NO, he just puts up a punch list of everything he is going to accomplish for the next year, labels all components (RE: "Belly-reduce by 11%), adheres it to his fridge and makes sure all things are accomplished by 12/31.

Cline your VK-envy is really starting to get out of hand. Maybe there is a 12-step program that can help.

That is something I would love to do, but is unlikely to happen due to time constraints. :(

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Yeah, I've been talking about it with the wife for 2yrs, knowing I could never get 6mos off to do the whole thing. I figure I can do 45mi in 4days (depending on terrain), so if I hike a 45mi section each spring and each fall, I should have it done in about 25yrs. Looks like this will be on the Goals list from here on. :D They say you can't finish if you don't start - let me know if you wanna go. :D
