I was at a drift show and drag test and tune today at VMP. I did two passes on my wrx, launching gently to care for transmission. And it shows in my times, not impressive. good mph but slow times, also... They had drifting cars in too. A s13 silvia with a small block chevy in it . Making at least 400 hp. 60 mph sideways adn forwards too, and a e30 bmw 3 series with a turbo system. I think a drift car would be a sunbeam tiger, light tail, little 289 v8 and narrow tires. It was good at making lots of smoke back in the day, did not handle well because the weight balance was off.... But it made lots of smoke. And cobras were fast with teh 289 v8 motor, there fore in a light car it could make lots of smoke and power. I had a good time, plenty of cars for drifting and things. A hachi roku notchback with not much power but plenty of rpm and noise. And a s15 240sx with a sr20det motor. Plenty of fun, even a 11 second crx to watch him run.
What do you think, a e30 with a twin cam z3 motor ? I think that would be fun.
