A friend of mine recently bought a 2004 6 series BMW. This is his first BMW and he is looking for recommendations on a good BMW mechanic for general maintenance work in the Cary/Raleigh/Apex area. Opinions ?

Mark Cooper's shop: Performance Chassis. A club sponsor and they do very good work.

For a car like the 6 series, he may want to also look at Bimmer Performance Center: http://bimmerperformancecenter.com/ Dan is a former dealer tech who started his own business a while back, and I've heard great things from people who have been there.

Tell your friend to stop by a local CVS or Walgreen's first. He'll need a big jar of vaseline so Hans can screw him.

Performance Chassis is good and Dave Davis is also a great BMW mechanic. Dave is located on Kirkland dr off of Lake Wheeler. 919.829.9599. Both are club supporters.

If I lived closer I would say come see me but I'm not. I recommend import motor works, formerly known as mpowered automotive.

Shade Tree. They are off Creedmoor road a few miles North of the intersection with 540. BMW's is all they do and they have a fantistic reputation. The place is located on out in the country and looks like a BMW farm.
