OK Marty, I have a question. why would you need a DD that holds 4 people? do you Carpool? grandkids?

so what kind of mpgs does a 1979 RX-7 get? it is under your $7K threshold.

lol,

great job posting a car that meets NONE of the requirements except maybe the fun part

Give Steve a break. He's trying to help your decision process. 2 seats vs 4 seats, 13 mpg vs 25+ mpg. These are just numbers anyway :) On the fun part, once you finally get up some speed on one of those, try lifting off the throttle suddenly in a turn -- you'll have a lot of fun!

Sport package has zero change in horsepower in the E46 (only the ZHP pkg had a minor (10hp) change).

That isn't a bad deal really assuming it has had all the typical junk fixed already, but I'd look at the thrust arm bushing and RTAB with the assumption they are needed. Also assuming it doesn't have engine issues (compression test, leak down test, etc)

When I saw that pic, the first thing that comes to mind is Ray Korman telling me (way back in 1981) about losing his oldest son who hit a telephone pole on icy pavement going about 30mph. He said the RX7 opened up along the body seam tack welds like a tuna can, and he knew if he'd been in a 2002 even that he'd be alive. :(

Back out the cost of the service(s) and you have your pricepoint with half the miles.

Rodney, you know that having your record beat isn't valid justification for selling your current car and buying another right?
