Moonlight pizza on Morgan is better than lilly's. They keep a bottle of Powers irish whisky at the bar.

Marcos on Hilsborogh st. Raleigh for fast takeout. Get the parmesan crust topper.

Thanks for all the suggestions, looks we have some great places to try out. As it turns out we decided to go back to Two Guys on Hillsborough st in Raleigh. To my utter disappointment, they have completely changed the restaurant into a fast food pizza place. I'm heart broken.... I had been going there since '76 and now it's dead.

I can see why they did this, to probably better serve students looking for a quick bite, but for folks like me, doubt I'll ever go back, lost its character.

We wound up going back to Piccola Italia in Cameron Village. Pizza was ok, over cooked it and burned the crust. Guess we'll need another pizza night!

Two guys lunch buffet is still worth it but yeah it's kinda not what it used to be.

I've never liked the pizza at picola. The entrees are pretty good. Try moonlight next time.

Stromboli's in Raleigh makes a decent pizza. Their entrees are better. As a point of reference, the place is full of cops on Tuesday nights when we go (Kids eat free!).

However, in my opinion, the best pizza is the one you make yourself. Odds are good you're not going to be able to get your kitchen oven hot enough to do it right, so if you've got a really big grill outside, use that. :D

(edit to add: Anyplace can make a 5-6 topping pizza that tastes alright. The true measure of a pizza place is their plain cheese pizza. If they can make a plain cheese that tastes good, you know their crust, sauce and cheese ratio are solid.)

Ciago's on St. Mary St. near Glenwood South is owned by one of the previous owners of Two Guys. Quite a few familiar faces there. Many of the old Two Guys menu items are available.
