Les, glad to hear your recovery is going well. How'd the last week of PT at home/out patient go?

Recovery is coming along nicely, I had a few at home PT sessions, but since I'm limited to walking only as exercise once my therapist got me walking with a cane exclusively and taught me all the necessities of getting around, she has discharged me from at home PT. Once I go to my next Dr appointment and hopefully get cleared for more exercises I will likely do some more outpatient PT. Went to the park and walked over a mile yesterday, it wore me out but felt good, I'm getting stronger by the day. How about yourself?

On another note, I got my statement from the hospital that totaled everything up, not a $6 million dollar bill, but quite the eye opener. Health care is absurdly expensive these days, I had an occupational therapist come to my room for less than an hour and the charge was nearly $1000.

Doctor/hospital: I treated a patient you cover, and my charge is $7437347239937.09
Insurance company: you can have $5.
Doctor/hospital: OK.

That is about how it goes. Charges are very far away from what gets paid, so don't sweat the big numbers.

Glad to see you making progress...that is, after all, what is most important.

I know about the absurd cost of going to the hospital. Last year when I had my heart valve replacement the charges were crazy.

about $139,000
