Like the title says, I'm looking to borrow a pyrometer for the EV challenge autox. Some of the teachers thought it would be a good idea to show the students how tire pressures make a difference and pyrometer would be good way to show temperature gradients across the tire.

Anyone have one that I could borrow for the EV challenge? A probe type instant read would probably be best. Please let me know if you have one and willing to let us use it.

Amazon has a cheap one I got for my father-in-law for Christmas. It was in their top 100 tools list.

Rodney,

I have one of each (non-contact and probe).

The Non-contact is an el-cheapo I bought brand new a couple of months ago, the probe is one I've had for a long time- might need new batteries by now.

You're welcome to use either or both.

I have one from Lowes(?). Max temp is 750F. I'll bring it to the next meeting. (new, clean, kept in the plastic -- 'cause it doesn't have an on/off.)

[I can mooch Roger's if I need one. His rattles around loose in a tool bag... so it's battery is usually dead, and it's dirt as ****. (Harbor Freight [CEN-TECH] - Max 850F)]
