who scheduled Street Survival on the same weekend as the LeMons event at CMP?

i have been raising hell over this for a year now as i think 15 year olds should be allowed to attend, but that was then. now, i have a prior committment. what am i to do? is THSCC involved this time?

well, now that you brought this up, this is being hosted by the local BMWCCA and Denis Kingburg. THSCC will be assisting w/ the event, but not co-hosting. It's an insurance thing. We'll be asking for THSCC members to help if they like and want to support the SS. I'll be taking the bus over to the event and helping setup.

This date was just recently decided and this worked out best from a bus perspective. In the past, we've had issues getting the bus from SS on Sat to the whatever event on Sun. This was one of the dates suggested by Denis and seemed the best option to me. Sorry this impacts the HPDE.

I'lll post up the SS stuff on another thread.

For some reason the Lemons 2012 schedule conflicts like mad with THSCC (lots of back-to-back weekends). This was a BIG part of our decision in Team Simon to focus on Chump races.

I like me some Lemons events, no problems with the BS that goes on. But, reading between the lines in the Lemons awards and payout changes, they are obviously going in the "hooptie" direction and leaving the "real" race cars to chump. Inevitable really in a world not really big enough for two crapcan racing series... all the wild and old stuff will end up at Lemons, and most of the hardcore crapcan racers at Chump.

For 2012, I will miss the Lemons madness (and Mid-Ohio) but looking forward to Beaverrun, Grand East, and maybe Nelson or NJMP :)

I'm driving a '67 Galaxie at CMP in March. couldn't pass it up once i got the opportunity. i just hope it runs for the entire event.

i agree with you Mike, LeMons has embraced the hooptie , but not sure they have ever strayed from that idea in the first place.

Nelson was pretty cool, don't think we are going back. let me know if you have an open seat.

What a coincidence, me too.

Seriously, the reason I'm stoke about this is I bought a book when I was a kid from that scholastic reader thing you had in elementary school that had had a picture of Parnelli Jones winning at riverside in a 67 Ford (ok, that was run on sentence). Even at that age, the only Nascar stuff I paid attention to was on road courses. Now I'm driving that car, well sort of.

Has Speedycop EVAR had a car that ran an entire event? I think you guys will need divine intervention because the last time they ran that car they couldn't even keep a stock 5.0 engine running.

There may be hope - SpeedyCop seems to build a car *at* its first event. Unless he's putting in another motor this time.
