I need to post details, but I've got a full iRacing simulator setup I'm going to sell. Three matching screens, PC, Fanatec wheel, pedals, and shifter. Race seat and everything is adjustable. Custom built, very nice, and runs iRacing perfectly. Hollar if you're looking for a full setup...

It'll be a lot less than you can buy the parts for, much less build the structure. But it was built with nice stuff, so it won't be cheap, no.

How much is the software and a decent steering wheel & pedal set?

It's a subscription based fee @$100 a year plus each additional car and track is in the $10 to $15 range. The up side of this arrangement is that you get a constantly evolving product. Iracing is significantly better now than it was just a year ago. Also, the license system requires that you start with simpler/slower cars and work your way up the ladder. You really don't need to buy much content when you start out and its all designed around getting people to stick with cars for at least a season so they can learn as much as possible.

Yes!! I am ready to get this started! I already race in the NEO endurance challenge with a lot of top notch drivers. I would love to see something like that take off in the club! Even though i might do alot of losing

I vote for multi class racing!!! But i'm sure everybody will want to do a spec thing.

If we can get enough people where there'd be competition in both classes, I'm all for multi-class

I used to have a really big sim setup that I also used as my work computer running 3x30" monitors but I had to make changes after getting a repetitive stress injury.

I have a new wheel coming and I restarted my iracing sub. Has there been any interest in tarheel in running an off season league.

Yes... Log in to iRacing, click the Leagues button, look for THSCC in the index and ask to join

Has anyone else tried out the lotus 49? It's hilarious. You have to brake before you can even see some corners and you can light up the rear tires at almost any speed :) Modern formula one would be a lot more interesting to watch with no engine restrictions, no aero, and smaller tires.

Just set up a new iRacing rig, first time with 3 screens:

Practicing for Barber next month, the wraparound effect is really nice:

Bump to this thread. Winter is here and it is time to do some sim racing.

I just made a new setup to go into my office closet and work with the Oculus Rift DK2:

Image

The DK2 is interesting. So far I find it way more difficult to drive with but I am still getting used to it. The resolution is barely good enough and I have found tracks with clear sight lines like Laguna Seca (except the corkscrew of course) are easiest to drive. If you don't have clear line of sight to corners blurriness can slow your recognition of the track layout you can end up way off of the line. Looking to the apex and exit in a way that maps 1:1 with real life is pretty cool.

How does the Oculus deal with you moving your head? I was thinking about re-doing our setup with smaller screens closer to my head, but the season is pretty much over until Barber in February, so no rush.
