Saturday morning. Lumley at I540. When I got to Barnes and Noble there were a BUNCH of sports, etc. cars parked nearby.

I just Googled Cars and Coffee and see it is a first Saturday of every month "event". The writeup I found was by someone complaining about getting up early. I think we arrived around 10 or so. The "writer" isn't too likely to show up at an autocross. :sleep

Ha! I chatted with a nice fellow at Laurinburg on Sunday that told me he put his STi into a guardrail after Cars & Coffee because he spilled his coffee all over his seat and hit the rail after being distracted. I knew it rung a bell...

As far as Cars & Coffee, there are some gorgeous exotics to see without a doubt. It's a shame that you can't hear them at WOT or see them in action rounding the sweeper at Danville or wiggling through a six cone slalom. Cars are meant to be driven but nonetheless, it's definitely worth checking out one Saturday morning.

Hard turns with acceleration tend to tip over "liquid filled accelerometers" :( :( :(

There was a yellow Lambo there when we finished in Barnes and Noble. We had seen it earlier at Leesville and I540.

I talked to him, too. One of Marc Lando's friends. After the event he said he's going to be autoxing next year. And that the way I drove my car is exactly what he wants to learn how to do.

He's not even a novice yet, and I've already set a "bad example" for him.

He has also had a more expensive "lesson" in the NEED to learn how to drive a performance car BEFORE trying to "drive" it than I did many years ago. (FYI we won't talk about all the stupid, in hindsight, street driving I got away with in my younger days after I did learn how to drive fairly well . . . whew   ).

There was a white current model STi sitting along I-540 between Buffalo Rd and New Bern Rd for several days. I wonder if that was the same car. Seemed weird for a basically brand new car to be basically abandoned on the side of the highway for 4 days.

my subaru has been fairly tough. though mine is stock.. however if you have too much boost or detonation, it will blow up.

on the dirt at the last rallycross.. first or second gear.. as long as i had boost, i could get a great drift on!

turn one in afternoon course was a first gear drift fest.. back part of straight was second gear, full boost awd drift on gravel.
beautiful stuff really. so much fun this rally stuff.someday the sentra will run right again.
