I've got the perfect car Rodney if you don't need cruise control. I promise you won't find one with a sunroof from the factory! Plus, R-comps would only be 15 inchers, plus no CEL's, turbos, superchargers, etc...

Ha! You know me too well.

ITRitis strikes again. The idea of car with the same HP as the baby hauler but almost 350# less gets me thinking all irrationally and stuff...

Seriously though, good luck with the BULLITT Rodney.

Why would you sell off the konis? - assuming the don't leak. :D

If they don't leak, I'll trade you my OEMs for 'em = probably as good as Tokico blues.

My assumption is these are the sports and configured for a lower spring height. Using the shocks on standard springs puts them working in the high upper range of the shock, so that would be my concern. Let's not jink this whole deal yet by asking this. Of the bullitt's I've been loosely looking at over the past 6 months, this seems to be the best bet. Hopefully carmax gets it together and pays of my loan and the guy holds the car till next week. The way my luck's been running lately, I'm feel that something will blow up here shortly and I'll be back to bore you w/ my incessant whining about how I can't find a car I like, blah, blah, blah.... :sleep

I would not make this assumption. Off the shelf, the Konis are designed for stock height springs. Most people aren't going to know the importance of using a shorter shock when lowering the car.

Or . . . You could order a 2013 Mustang in early December for delivery in early spring.

650 HP Shelby anyone? :D

Wow, what an ugly snoot on the GT! Of course, that fixed grill surround will likely eliminate the 80 mph hood flutter that plagues my car's shingle hood. These two features intrigue me:
* 4.2-inch LCD productivity display (monitor acceleration, g force, braking with Track Apps and warranty tattletale)
* Pony projection light, casts shadow of Mustang pony emblem on nearest Camaro when doors are unlocked

This probably isn't a stock class legal mod, but I installed a CDC Classic spoiler and it got rid of my hood flutter. At least at highway speeds up to 80. I haven't tested it over that speed. I can't say that I fully understand how that spoiler on the bottom got rid of the hood flutter.

I haven't noticed any hood flutter on my 2012 . . . but I haven't really been over normal freeway speeds (pushing 75).

I knew the Shelby snout was coming and that just reinforced my desire to buy a 2012. Plus I see that my favorite color, Red Candy Metallic, isn't on the color list. I would have liked the select shift automatic.

Overall I'm glad I got a 2012 (good thing considering the 5 years of car payments).

I've got the same CDC chin spoiler as Jason and I can tell you that around 120MPH the hood still flutters and the front end (steering) gets really light.

My 08' hood fluttered a little at highway speeds, but the 11' doesn't move. Of course I have hood struts on the 11' now which I'm sure damps any movement.

So I think most of the preliminary stuff is complete in regard to moving ahead w/ the sale. I have a conf call setup for tonight to talk w/ the owner. As it turns out, he’s autox’d the car as well, so that’s good. As far as I can tell he’s allowed different setups than what I’m allowed to run from a stock class setup. Aren’t there some clubs that run a points system for mods to the car that places you in different classes? He also says he has all of the stock suspension parts except for the springs. I don’t think that’s a problem as the bullitt ran the same springs, just different shocks/struts. I’m sure there’s plenty of take-off stuff out there.

Anyway, I’m hopeful this works out. If carmax and get the loan paid off by Friday or Monday at the latest, then a road trip to VA on Wednesday next week is planned. I’ll get a rental car to drive up and drop off. If the car doesn’t present well, at least I have a ride home. Time will tell….
