It might be worth a call to the Dodge dealer on Capital (directly across from the old Saturn dealer). They had a silver MCS on the lot right on the road and it didn't appear to have a sunroof. I checked their website and they didn't have it listed yet.

I'll stop by and take a look....

Anyone have thoughts on the new Ford Focus? Nice looking car. Only down side is to get the 5 speed manual, you can only get one w/ the SE model, and that's also disk front and drum rear brakes. Also don't know if you can get an LSD, but they do advertise torque vectoring steering, whatever that is.

I can get the X plan pricing from work. Didn't know if anyone had actually considered one of these for a DD and autox car. Something else I can go explore now....

Rodney,

I cannot even imagine you (or I) being "happy" with a standard Focus as an autox car. It MIGHT work as a new with warranty daily driver plus a hitch to tow an F125 (like Keith Vail does with his Fit).

Now the upcoming Focus ST might be another story.

http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto ... ing_to_la/

The "problem" with lot of years of "car experience" but with a "cost IS an object" budget is that it is extremely hard to even pick a daily driver, let alone one that is a "suitable" autox car.

Now you know why I keep "satisfactory" daily drivers for a decade or so and am so happy with the Mod car for autox. It also means we don't have an itch to sell this house with lots of yard work since we need the extra garage and the space for a trailer and tow vehicle.

I did quick look at 07-09 328's and all are above my price point, so no, my "freakishly #&*%^)%( frame" won't be driving one of those any time soon...

Yep, and with 255hp as opposed to 07+ 328i 230hp. Rodney if you're interested in an E90 330i, it definitely has more headroom with the stupid sunroof than E39 or E46 but still likely not enough for you. However, if you'd like to check one out, you're welcome to come and drive mine. We've had it since new (Feb 06), 93k miles now, most reliable car I've ever owned so far. I think early production 2006 E90s had some issues, but ours is an 01/2006 build date. It weighs 80lb more than the E46 ZHP (3450lbs vs 3370lbs), same 0-60 (5.6s), same 1/4mile (14.3sec but 98mph trap vs 97mph for ZHP).
