I've been away from the forum for a few days, and you guys let Rodney buy a Mini?
The shame is, I saw a great DD for Rodney yesterday. Passed it on NC 147 in front of the DBAP .. in the rain. A pea-green six-window 1959 Sedan deVille like this:

based off of you signature, thought you might be interesed in this
http://eastnc.craigslist.org/cto/2659383173.htmli'm sure that hole in the roof will buff right out too..............

I apologize for hijacking Rodney's
THREAD OF WOE again, but the Ford Elite (it was not a "Torino Elite", it was an "Elite") was a breakthrough car for its era. And I'm not talking about the hole the mouse chewed in the padded vinyl roof of this example, but the fact that it had four (FOUR, 4, IV, 2x2) porthole windows. That feature alone demoralized GM and Chrysler so badly that they re-based their 1980 product lines on frumpy X-Cars and K-Cars.
About 4 years ago my cousin offered me his Elite. Though the interior was in excellent shape -no doubt due to the superior Naugas used in Elite upholstery - and the exterior was in decent shape, it had been sitting unused behind his storage shed for quite a while, so I took a pass. He eventually found someone to give him 3 or 4 thousand for it, so there is a market for '70s excess
