I've seen that video and it made me sick when I watched it. Turns out, it still does!

My wife said that these guys must be single with no Moms around!

One of the craziest things is that it seems at times he goes a long time without his safety line secured (the hook is attached to his chest). I also found it amazing how small some of those "ladder" sections were -- hard to believe.

On another subject, it reminds me of ~1977 when the WRAL tower was built off Hwy70 which at that time I think was the highest ground mounted tower in the world. I was at NC State at the time and of course had to go out there and check that thing out. I have some neat pictures of stuff like looking up the highest guy wires from their mounting point where you can see the tremendous curve the wire takes, etc, you know, all that stuff only a crazed engineer would appreciate.

Wow! Even near the top he clips it "around" the pegs, but it could slide off the side of the peg.

WOW!
I don't think I could get paid enough to do that.

I suppose the head cam exaggerated the motions, be even so, nerves of steel are needed.
I was queasy watching it.

I used to do environmental source testing. The highest smoke stack I had to go up was about 1000ft tall. Then I had to lower sample lines to the ground. The highest free climb I did was 275 ft.

This went viral about a year or so ago. At that time I looked on the creators website and he actually tried removed his original video due to flack regarding him not following standard safety procedures. I checked the site a few minutes ago and he is still posting, so he must still be alive!

I get queasy each time I watch it. I think at times he is a bad weld or strong gust away from death.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Actually, that isn't true. OSHA looks at ladders, and that's essentially what this is, differently. He even says that it is considered safer to free climb.

Ditto! I thought that too especially when they BOTH grab onto the final pole that looks to be bolted down with just four bolts, plus it shakes when they grabbed it.

That video definitely pushes the nausea button. :|

This picture from the antenna on top of the Empire State Building was pretty neat too:

Good Lord, my hands are still sweating from watching that! Talk about nerves of steel. You couldn't pay me enough money to climb that....
