anyone have one that i can borrow for a day? going to pick up a bike near the coast tomorrow but all i have is a car trailer with no way to secure the front wheel. or if you can tell me how to securely strap a bike down on a flat surface (ie, no forward or side-side stops) i'm all ears.

Steel deck or wood? If wood, temporarily affix 2x4 strips with wood screws. If steel, well, harder to temporarily affix things, but angle and a drill and some bolts?

Some bikes are easier than others, but you can strap without a chock *if* you have good points to tie down to so the straps can go outward enough. Or if you can just do FOUR straps to the front fork where one pair both attach to the same side of the fork but one goes forward and one backward, then the same on the other side, the wheel can't turn or go forward or backward. Then you use two more to tie the rear down so it can't vibe sideways (but don't REALLY crank it down since it'll unload a pair of the front straps...all you care about is make sure it can't go side to side and is a bit of a safety catch if a couple of the front break somehow).

I don't own a MC trailer or I'd offer it up. I do have a Versahauler, but my bet is whatever you're getting is too heavy for it anyway as it's weight limit is pretty low (it's mostly for dirtbikes).

I have a bike carrier you can borrow
Image

This is my near 400lb Cagiva on it. If it is a heavy bike like this It is helpful to have a second person help load and tie it down.

Lemeno if you wanna borrow it.

Jason - you're welcome to use my util trailer. I have a motorcycle chock/adapter and a ramp. Works great.

Whoops, just saw this. You can borrow my "Trailer in a bag" any time I'm not using it, Jason.

Haha.

See here:

I don't really want to take up garage space with a motorcycle trailer so I got one that collapses and can be stored in the basement. Works great, have used it for over 1000 miles of towing so far.
