I'm getting ready to change the transmission filter in the tow truck and find out nobody in Greenville sells Amsoil anymore. What about the Triangle? Preferably somewhere near the beltlines.

actually i could use a couple of their empty bottles like this:

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mtg.aspx

it's just right for fitting the little hand pump that harbor freight sells, great for filling transmissions and diffs. if anyone has empties let me know, bonus points if you're coming to vir since i have to fill my leaky diff.

Cline, did you call Walter? I know he had a guy in town he bought it from. Also if I remember correctly that speedy lube or whatever it is near the corner if firetower and Charles had a sign that they sold amsoil products.

I got on the web sit and i'm looking into becoming a commercial customer. Supposed 40% savings. Perhaps this is something we could do as a club? Or the club become a dealer? Any thoughts.

The club becomes a dealer? How would that work?

Don't you have to have a retail storefront to be a commercial customer?

The way I understand it is that if I become a dealer, then I buy the products at wholesale and sell them to people between wholesale (0 profit) and MSRP (ie their webpage prices - 20% profit). It's on a per transaction basis so it goes directly to the buyer from Amsoil. I'm not sure how this is much different than just going to the website and buying it since there are still shipping costs involved. If we had dealers in the club we can just charge each other the wholesale prices (ie what the dealer pays)....makes doing taxes easier :).

I read through the dealership literature, seems like a PITA. I say one of us (I'll do it) becomes a preferred customer (fee based) and just buys everyone else in the club stuff at wholesale prices (same gig as the dealership opportunity...I think 20% off). It'd be smart if we try to do a couple large orders per year to save on shipping.

And no schedule SE/C filing at the end of the year  . That was annoying the year I worked at Tech Shop when I was teaching welding.

Yeah I saw that to, the commercial customer supposedly is 40% off retail. If that doesn't work the preferred customer looks like the way to go. While the shipping my cost the time saving would probably be worth it.
