Rutledge Wood is probably the least offensive out of the bunch; he really does seem to have genuine enthusiasm for what he's doing.

Tanner Faust is the real deal when it comes to movie stunts and driving, but he has no personality and a dead look in his eyes.

Adam Ferrera seems to be there. That's about it.

Agree with all except Rutledge. Unoffensive is better (less horrible) that completely annoying. You watch NASCAR Trackside too don't you

Agreed.

Tanner can drive and has the personality for tv. He is the best on the show and the other two making fun of him works.

Rutledge has the knowledge and enthusiam necessary for the show. But can be a bumbling idiot at times.

Adam is awful. Simply awful. I think he is by far the weakest link on the show. His personality sucks and he isn't funny at all.

And I think comparing it to TGUK season 17 is unfair. Go back and look at TGUK season 1. They sucked also. They had no chemistry at all. Who knew that those three would go on to be one of the best set of hosts world wide?

Give TGUS a chance. It's already better than season 1 and it will get better. It has to get better.

And Rob, I watch exactly 2 NASCAR races all year. Daytona 500 and the Coke 600. I do not watch Track Side.

Bringing this back a little...

I got caught up this weekend on some USTG and The Car Show... and I gotta say... I like USTG much better. I missed the season premiere, but the other two or three I've really enjoyed. Obviously, they've still got a ways to go to develop the chemistry between the hosts, but they are head and shoulders above TCS in my opinion.

It just feels like a smarter show to me. USTG is WAY too much "The Man Show" with wheels.

Adam Carolla makes 'The Car Show' for sure. He's one funny SOB IMHO. The format of the non-in studio segements could be better for sure. I actually really like their banter in '0-60' at the beginning of each show quite alot.

I say replace Rutledge 'The Tool' Wood with Adam Carolla and the USTG would be much better. Also Tanner can drive, but he ain't funny. The other two, well they are pretty much useless.

LOL ... I like USTG better.

Corolla and Sally are just creepy (Why is John Sally there?)

I don't find Corolla especially humorous I guess. He's entertaining as "the clueless one" (Loveline, The Man Show)... but as someone who's supposed to be a car guy, he comes off as a poser/name-dropper to me on this show.

I'm still watching it... still giving it the same chances I gave USTG last year. But when comparing the two shows directly, what it comes down to is I simply like the content better on USTG. And again, when you compare the two shows, USTG is MUCH MUCH MUCH more like UKTG. (I'm not saying TCS is trying to be TG, it's obviously not... I'm just saying after watching it, USTG doesn't look so far removed from UKTG anymore.)

I'm enjoying both shows a great deal, I've been liking Carrolla's show more as I find him to be pretty funny though this last show things seemed to degrade and they took things a little too far. In general though I'm just pretty thrilled to have to solid car related shows on US TV even if they aren't perfect. Am I the only person who still actually watches Motorweek? It seems they may be feeling the heat a bit and they are trying to jazz it up some, rather unsuccessfully.

It's been a while since I've watched Motorweek... maybe once in the last year?

Every time I've seen that show, it is so obviously a marketing engine for automakers that I can't really watch it (much like regular automotive journalism is... car of the year anyone? What a farce.)

For the last two weeks The Car Show has been cut to 30 minutes, which might work better in the long run, but I'm glad they got the Laguna Seca vintage race episode event in before the change. And what happened to John Salley?

I haven't had a chance to watch them... DVR'd, but I hadn't noticed the time change... as far as Salley... maybe they realized how irrelevant he was? :?

I may have missed a couple as well... DishNetwork has been doing some REALLY weird things with their channels lately... For some reason, instead of leaving the normal channel numbers as they are, and sending HD or SD signal depending on the receiver and/or the favorites list... it looks like they've decided to move the HD signals to different channels (4000's). Problem is... the DVR is still looking for HD on channel 150... so it does not record the SD, NOR does it record on the new channel.

REALLY annoying! (and thus far, in the last 6 or so years, the only thing I've really felt like complaining about.)

Oh man, this was great to watch. I caught it last week for the first time and when I saw him sling it tight through the hammerhead (which no one does), I knew he'd be setting the top time. Damn Mr. Bean, well done. 8)

I have been liking both the US Top Gear and The Car Show.

Regarding The Car Show I also noticed John Salley disappeared without any mention. He seemed like a nice guy, but I agree he brought zero to the show. I was always wondering what he was doing there. For some reason I didn't notice the drop to 30 minutes. I just found a mention online that the move to 30 minutes and the dropping of Salley was to shake things up. That they felt that the show should be hosted by experts and that Salley was not one. The Laguna Seca/Historic Racing episode was great. They need to do more like that.

The #1 problem I have with The Car Show is Adam Carolla. He is funny, but... Some of what he says at times just makes me uncomfortable to let me kids watch the show with me. They enjoy both the UK and US Top Gear, but I am getting tired of the unpredictability with the appropriateness of some of what he says. It's not way over the top, but it is just slightly beyond what I think he should be doing. I guess in August he was in hot water over something he said in his podcast.

Regarding US Top Gear. I have decided that US celebrities are the slowest people on the face of the earth. Their version of "Star In a Reasonably Priced Car" has resulted in a wealth of people who drive like they are taking their grandmother to the local Piggly Wiggly for weekly shopping. I see more aggressive driving on I-40 every morning and evening!
