Just curious if anyone knows what runway they use for this event? Surely it's not the same pos we use for autox? Perhaps they get access to one of the better condition runways? http://www.ecta-lsr.com/

Found the answer on their site. I guess they do actually use that horrid runway of which we've used both the far end and now recently the near end.

They used to have a white painted line to follow that went the length of the runway. IIRC they had a rider killed a couple years ago.

They were the ones who laid down the strip of tar down the runway. I hear that Blackwater is kicking them out too.

I did this event many years ago and set a speed record in my class at the time of 132.159 MPH in a 1997 Grand Prix GTP...the record was for something like "production supercharged" or something like that.

Here are some photos (sorry, dig-cam technology back then was pretty lame compared to now)

The Budwiser Hyabusa did something like 251 a couple years ago, and he was dissapointed. Lots of folks over 200. I've gone there a few times, but would rather run the Silver State. Lots more run off room. LOL

It's smoother driving at triple digits, you just skip over the cracks between the concrete pads and holes, or so I've heard...
