My wife has fallen in love with this: http://www.myrtlebeachautomotive.com/certified/Mercedes-Benz/2009-Mercedes-Benz-C-Class-921ce8460a0a006401620d9250f29b26.htm

It's in her (our) budget to replace her DD. My problem, I was thinking a good 3 series plus I don't know a damn thing about MB after about 1988 300SD's

I am scared of what long term maintenance is like on these or if I should not touch this with a 10ft (100 ft :stick:) pole...

Anybody know anything about these?

I can't really say anything about these other than my BMW mechanic hates the C class and refuses to work on them. I'd hit up the interweb and those forum things and see what the man on the street has to say about these. BTW, damn nice looking car. Your wife has good taste.
