Anybody know of a club in the WNY area, I am being transfered to Buffalo (note to self: dont sleep with the bosses wife). The local SCCA looks to be light on the A-X side of things

This looks like a good place to start:

Your thread made me do a double take, then laugh a bit. Best wishes on the move.

Try these guys. I met some folks at VIR who came down from Buffalo and run with this club. They do track and autocross. http://www.niagarapca.org/

They do Watkins Glen and you aren't going to be far away.

I hope she was worth it. In Buffalo summer lasts about 12 days. They have 6 AX events. Every other day in summer...

western NY and fingerlakes region SCCA is probably your best bet for solo events. I've never raced with them, but did spectate a couple of events when I was going to school up there.
I don't know what kind of car you drive, but after living in Rochester for 13 years I'd suggest you invest in something with 4WD.

I did the Finger Lakes Tour once and it seems to have a pretty good core of people running there and a nice site. - AB

Finger Lakes folks are very nice. Bernie and I ran up there last summer. They lost that good site though, Aaron. Too bad. I was looking forward to it again this year.
It made the old L'burg site look like a short course.

Thanks everyone, I grew up in St. Catherines ON. on the other side of the lake, I have the cold mastered. Nothing like the heated seats and full heated windshield in a landrover and lots of Gortex to make northern living more bearable. I did hear that summer was officailly extended to 15 days this year, or atleast that is what they told me when they asked me to move.

Sort of off topic, but I stumbled upon this from one of the NY SCCA regions. Looks like they are working diligently as well to boost attendance.

I used to run with Finger Lakes and the MoHud Region back in the 90's. I think Mohud (Albany Area) is more active - but kind of a hike from Buffalo. Good Luck!
