Penalty laps for a cheater car at Lemons? Tell me it isn't so. If anybody has an AIX Mustang they want to trade for a stock, slightly dented, oil coated 94 Mustang V-6 let me know. Oh wait, it is in the rules and punishment happens all the time. The penalty might have saved this dumass from having his car destroyed.

I couldn't resist, left this comment:

Mr. Swig,

I bet your kid’s Little League coach wouldn’t start your son even though he was the most talented player on the team.

My team has been given laps just because Jay wanted to, we bribed and still got laps. Who cares? We were there to race and race we did.

That’s what Lemons is about. If you want to reform racing why don’t you go talk to Bernie Ecelstone and get FI fixed, or Nascar to get the awful points system fixed, or see if you can get Indy back to it’s former glory.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

the scary part here is that Cline finally used "spell-check" on something he posted. the end is near for sure..........

IMO, the Left Coast LeMons gangstas are way too serious, hell they have wait-listed teams for every event. have no doubts, LeMons is getting faster and more expensive on this side of the world also. as far as its demise, i can see numbers dropping on the East Coast but i don't think the same for the West Coast. not exactly sure why but my theory is cost of doing business.

i get the feeling that West Coast NASA, SCCA, Club Racing is exhorbitantly expensive anymore and the less affluent racers have trickled down into LeMons. while expensive i think the East Coast racing scene is still reasonably priced with a wide array of tracks within commuting distances.

and ChumpCar, well talk about a wide open circus............. get your tickets while it lasts.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I don't think that LeMons ever presented itself as fair, and from what I've seen in the timing booth I'm pretty sure that it isn't. The BS judging is for show, those guys spot 10% of the cheating, generally don't know what they are looking at, gig you for your non-cheaty stuff and let your cheaty stuff slide, etc. A good attitude mostly carries you through it. A poor attitude gets you f'd with. We didn't even have to open the hood at the last two inspections. We're thinking of a cheater car theme if we ever get tired of Duff, paint our shocks Moton orange, weld an H22 valve cover on our D16, etc.

The arbitrary tech/safety inspections do bother me though. I expect BS inspections to be a circus, but not tech. We get busted at one race for making the changes that they told us to make at the previous race, and then we get ridiculed when we ask for clarification. 90% of that is Jay though, the guy is a tool.

All things considered; if you're there taking it seriously and intent on winning, then you're probably at the wrong race. Roll with it, laugh at the stupid stuff, get out on track, and have some fun.
