So my wife thought she wanted a Crosstour so we went to look at it and she really hated the rear visibility but loved integrated bluetooth and I think the V6 was a bit benign for the power and fuel economy. Anyway we decided to stick with the Accord for a while longer. She said she'd be really happy if she had integrated bluetooth for her phone and that it would keep her satisfied with her current car 'forever' :).

Anyway, Honda has a Genuine Accessory to retrofit bluetooth into the car, but A) you loose a sunglasses holder B) no LCD screen and C) doesn't integrate with the stereo.

Does anyone have experience with any aftermarket bluetooth setups that integrate with the car speakers (ie stop the music when you have a call coming or when you try to dial someone etc) and had a LCD screen?

I found a few people mentioning a 'Parrot' system and I found a few kits but I have no idea if they are any good or how they'd work in her Accord.

VK has something he put in his Focus. but i believe he replaced the factory tuner in the process.

my X5 is giving me fits as i just downloaded a phone update and now the Bluetooth crashes constantly.

this is just one more an**-r**e perpetrated upon the US consumer by i don't even know who. so where as i had a relatively safe way to interface with my phone while driving, now i have to put on my reading glasses to answer my hand held unit. real special on I-40 at 80+. :x

We have a parrot kit in the Mini, and it integrated into the factory stereo/nav screen. It works really well actually.

You dodged a bullet with her not liking the crosstour. That may be the ugliest car known to man. I would drive a Pontiac Aztek anyday over a crosstour.

I really like the way the CrossTour looks. As a matter of fact, that's the only thing I liked about it. Too much crap for me: leather, heated seats, climate control etc.

What Parrot model do you have? 3000? 3100?

That's pretty funny. It still looks a million times better than those auto IS300 wagons.

The best bet to get the ideas going would probably be Crutchfield and it may even be the best choice to replace the head unit while you're at it. They are super inexpensive now. I almost want to go that route just to throw the indash six disc carousel in the trash so Therese can run an iPod.

The 8G accord has fully integrated stereo into the dash. I'm not sure how that would work.

Usually they have free aftermarket kits to adapt the 'single din' design. I did a search using an '06 and they asked for various things like nav, dual climate switches, etc..

Ok, so I'm getting criticized about my automobile aesthetic tastes by someone who drives an Element and an Impreza Wagon....ok, check.

Thinking about a TSX wagon too ;).

I didn't buy it for the looks :) Thus the reason why I only drove it 4k miles in the last year ;)

That said, my wife and I did buy this which I think is aesthetically pleasing:

Clearly this was an April fools prank. No one could make that statement sincerely about the abomination that is known as the CrossTour. I however do not feel the CrossTour takes the prize as the ugliest car in production, Nissan must have been specifically going for that award when they produced this ghastly thing:

Maybe look into this:

http://diceelectronics.com/mediabridge.html

I have them in my E39s and love them. BT much better than the factory super expensive retrofit kit. Plus the audio over BT functionality with iPhone is fantastic. I can stream Pandora in high quality while I drive all over town without using a cable.

No, I honestly like the CrossTour. If the 271chp/258ftlb v6 lived up to the numbers and it had a 6MT with a low option trim, I'd possibly buy one for myself.

I think it is in the league of the FX35/Murano anyway in terms of design, both of which I like too.

Granted, if Acura put the RDX 2.3L Turbo and an LSD and 6MT into the TSX wagon, that'd be my next car ;).

For the Murano, maybe they are the same league. The FX, not really. The little know fact is that no parts are shared between the Murano and FX. They are built on completely different chassis, as the Murano is built on a Altima chassis and the FX is built on the G series chassis. Our FX really drives like a taller G series sedan.

Regardless, the CrossTour is hideous. It makes the Toyota Venza look good. - AB

Pretty sure that we have the 3000, and a harness that I don't think is made by them that connects it to the factory stereo. It was a LONG time ago that we put it in there ('06).

And don't diss my element. I'll take the toaster look over the crosstour any day, not to mention the practicality it has. Cleaning a car out with a leaf blower instead of a vacuum is AWESOME.
