This is just a reminder. If you have a Race Chrono unit from MHMotorsports and haven't figured out all the cool stuff about using it for autocross, we're meeting with Marty at 6:00 PM tonight at Rudino's (before the THSCC meeting).

This is a great opportunity to exchange ideas with others on what you've figured out, and ask questions about the stuff you haven't figured out.

Thanks to Marty, I have the basics figured out, and had a blast using the RC in Wilmington a couple of weeks ago. Being able to sit in the car after each run and make comparisons against your optimum time, or your co-driver's run, or even see the optimum line on the spot is a fantastic tool. Marty is bringing some stuff for anyone who might want to take software home with them.

See you tonight.

As a non-owner I'd like to come sit in and watch/learn. I couldn't get a good idea on how it functioned last time it was shown.

Glad to have you. I'm hoping we'll get our sessions from NCR up on computer so they'll be easier to see. I think having an actual autocross track will make things much more clear. As a matter of fact, we can put mine in your car for a run at our next event and compare your run to mine-or to your optimum. If you're running in TIR this year I may even be running against you for part of the year. Haven't decided what to do.

If I can make it to harbor freight and Honda for a floor jack and brake pads between 5 and 6, I'll be there.

I have got mine working better than when we last talked. I just don't know how to make it sing :)

BTW- For those reading this, I do NOT have a unit from Marty, I am just using the same software with different hardware.

So this hardware/software is SWEET! Damn, I just bought a new car and a ton of parts to prep it. I might have to hold off a few months so my wife forgets the $$$$ I just spent so I can spend another $$$$ :).

It's always interesting talking to people after an events and asking "did you lift here" or 'did you brake there' but seeing it quantitatively AND visually is insane!

Thanks to all that showed up. A great discussion and I learned a bit as well. Especially how to read data for AutoX vs Track.

Let me know if there are questions later on, and I made a few notes about requested enhancements to pass on.

Thanks for coming out early to help us with the learning curve on the unit and how to interpret data.

I know this season is going to be eye opening to say the least.

Marty,
Thanks again for coming. Today we sat down with all the data from the NCR event using the computer screen. We were able to go over everything in detail. Now I have specific areas to work on at the next event. Having used the Trac Mate in the past I can tell you from experience that the Race Chrono is the best thing going, especially for autocross. I can hardly wait for next Sunday now.

Here is one for Gwen:

Can someone walk the course and beam/send the track map to other users?

Strange as that seems, I was just wondering the same thing. I think not, without putting it on computer first. Marty?

That would be cool though. As would being able to exchange data from each other's runs w/o going to computer. What is it with us? Get something good and always want more.

Marty said the track driver files can be exported and emailed...so I guess it's possible, but wouldn't be available immediately at the event. Potentially the "walk" file could be downloaded to one notebook and each other user come by to download it...but that seems much more work than just walking it individually.

Saving my pennies for one now!
