 Post subject: Toyota recalls............... floor mats !!!!

and in doing so the Toyota Corporation admitted to the entire world that the people buying their cars are so oblivious to the whole driving experience that they hardly notice the floor mat is wedged under the accelerator pedal.

good thing BMWs have a bottom hinged pedal or my wife would have already become a statistic. at least she seems to have quit dropping her pocket-book under the driver's seat. :shock:

Was this ever looked at as a potential cause for all the "stuck throttle" issues?

(I would assume it was, but I can't remember hearing about it.)

Yeah, remember the first fix was to zip tie the floor mats so they wouldn't slide under the accelerator.

While they can figure out a floor mat, BMW seems to be having some trouble with making a fuel pump that last a little longer than 15k miles on the 3.5 Turbo engines. Can you say class action lawsuit? It's in process as I type.

At least Toyota is taking their lumps and actually recalling cars that need it. - AB

i'd swear i just read where there is a recall on some of those fuel pumps.

among other things there is a recall on the high pressure fuel pumps for the n54
