Is there any use for a decent condition Snell 95 full face helmet (new in late 98) other than flower pot, halloween costume, etc.? No longer Autox legal so certainly not track legal.

Bell M-2 size 7 5/8 White.

If so, free for the taking. Act quickly since it is likely to be in the trash Monday.

I guess it is safer than this one.

Are helmets checked during tech inspection at autocrosses? We haven't been checking them at rallycrosses. And, hey, that helmet's just my size! Congratulations on the huge cranium Dick.
I 'm interested if we don't check at rally-x.

Charlie,

You are welcome to it. I'll check for any accessories like shields and spare hardware. The interior has a bit of a soap smell that didn't rinse out years ago when it was last washed. Other than that it is is good shape.

Of course, it would seem a helmet is much more necessary for rallycross than for autox. Autox tech usually, if not always, checks helmets. Plus mine still has SCCA tech stickers from Pro Solos and/or tours/Nats :D

ummmm, hate to spoil the fun here, but yes, we are ramping up helmet inspections for both autox and especially rallyx. Helmet inspections will now be part of car tech and we'll be providing stickers to show the helmet passed.

DOT helmets will no longer be allowed due to the inconsistent testing methods allowed for DOT. From a date stand point, nothing older than 2000 will be allowed. We're about to issue an official statement on this, so stay tuned please.

Dang! We need to offer a "shopping period" for compliance. I guess it's time to go helmet shopping and kiss the new tires goodbye

My fault. I should have just thrown the helmet away and the old helmets would have been OK. :(
