sadly it's not as good a thing as it might be.

my desktop computer doesn't like to connect to links from my Outlook program. the error message is application hang.

to the best of my knowledge no viruses exist on the machine so any thoughts?

i recently (within the last 6 months) installed MS Office 2007 without un-installing Office 2003. whenever i check Task Manager to see what the deal is with the hang i see where it appears as if two identical links are attempting to open rather than just one.

yeah, i know.......... get a MAC, get rid of Outlook, etc, etc.

You don't need to uninstall old versions of Office (any pieces, including Outlook).

What version of IE are you running? I'll assume Outlook is defaulting to calling IE to open the link. You should have at least IE 7 and probably IE 8 would be a better choice.

No need to buy a Mac, they're overpriced and only good for a niche market. Anytime you get sick of MS you can reuse your Intel/Amd box to run Fedora or Ubuntu and use Open Office. Cost: $0. Beats M$ and Apples.

i think i discussed Open Office with my tech guy, but i think it doesn't support my Outlook calendar which we all share. sounds familiar anyway.
