I am off from work tomorrow and might explore the triangle a bit. I am aware of places like the "Durham Scrap Exchange" and "Habitat for Humanity ReStore", but is there any other good scrap places in the Triangle? I am looking for Scrap metal, wood, etc. I welcome any and all suggestions. Thanks!

Richard

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

What kind of wood are you looking for? I have a pile in the backyard from an old deck.

hey hey hey

That's not scrap, those are classic BMW's that are one day going to be restored to their former glory.........err, melted down and turned into Kia's or Chery's or Tata's. So yeah, I guess they are mostly scrap.

And scrap price is up!!!!

There's a metal recycle yard on Cheek Rd in Durham. http://jdrecyclers.com/

If you're coming from Raleigh, you'll also pass by a LKQ, so it's a worthwhile way to spend a few hours.
