Wanted one but wanted to actually drive it on public roads and didn't want to worry about it being crushed by uncle Sam? Well the R33 is finally on the VCP list.

Quote:
"VCP" eligibility numbers are assigned to vehicles that are decided to be eligible under 49 U.S.C. ยง 30141(a)(1)(B), based on a petition from a manufacturer or registered importer which establishes that the vehicle has safety features that comply with, or are capable of being altered to comply with, all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Didn't motorex go belly up a while ago?

edit- actually, I guess it looks like they are still around, but don't import skylines anymore. According to their page they now export automotive stuff to Japan.

98 Honda Integra R, please.

Motrex had to do things to the cars to bring them up to US crash standards before they could be titled. The only specific I can remember is lowering the door crash bars.

Not on the road, but I own a Honda Acty minitruck that's RHD and a manual. Getting used to left handing shifting is surprisingly easy. The harder part is getting used to looking to your left for the rear view mirror. I'm not sure I'd ever get it.

i remember driving a hire car in the UK a while back, shifting was the hardest part for me. the pattern isn't reversed but my brain says that first is towards you and up, so i kept trying to start in 5th. but at least you could rent a car with a proper gearbox.

I thought that the R32 and R34 were the only GT-Rs worth buying (outside of the R35, the V35 doesn't count).

I think it is harder to get used to the blinker being on the wrong side of the steering wheel. We lived in Japan for 3 years and that still got me.

A buddy of mine imported his early 90's RHD Skyline from Japan. It is pretty cool to drive around the town.
