Since the last fun AX was cancelled, Les and I have decided to take it to the strip. We will both be there running for fun and would like to extend the offer to other club members. If we have enough interest we can do bracket racing to decide the 2010 THSCC drag queen. It should cost about 20$ to get in, so bring cash and enough for some flaming red hotdogs too.

When: Sunday Nov 21st, 2010 1pm-... (gates open at 12pm?)
Where: Fayetteville Drag strip (http://www.fayettevillemotorsportspark.com/)
What: Drag Racing

Although Les has a hemi, his wagon will be going down!

I'll put my money on the automatic with traction control in a bracket race. Or, a slow Miata with a slipping clutch that gets a 1/8th mile head start!
I'll come if we have a heads up, "run what you brung" class. We have some fast cars in the club. None of them are front wheel drive.
The fastest street car probably has a bowtie and Z06 on it. I'm sure one of the trailered track cars is the fastest.
The lines get long at Fayetteville. I'd suggest arriving no later than 11:00 and getting in line on the side of the road.

It's got a bowtie but it's not a Z06. I'll run what I brung, if you do.

I may see if Bryan wants to bring his non-Z06 C6 out. He's decided not to sell it.

I'd bring the STi out, but would rather not beat on it too much, for it will only see another 6-8 events before I sell it. I have a funny feeling I'll be getting an Elise at the end of 2011. - AB

That's funny, I've been there at least a half dozen times during Sunday afternoon TnTs and I've never seen it very busy. I can't get the website to load right now, but I also didn't think they opened the gates until noon. I usually just show up at 1 when they start running and don't have to wait at all.

Okay, got the website to load and confirmed the gates do not open until noon. Also its $10 to get in and $10 to race, so if you bring someone who is not racing over 12 it will cost them $10 just to get in and watch. Children <12 are free.

Nope, it's 1/4 mile.

It used to be many years ago, but they extended it to 1/4 at least 10 years ago. It is slightly uphill at the end though and not quite as quick as Rockingham because of this.

Dammit, now we are never going to match the magazine/bench racers times!
