I just saw the promo for this and it looks very intriguing. Keep in mind the last game console I had was Pong. Anybody scene or got. I am assuming I would need an xbox to run it, what generation would do it (would love to pick up cheap) I guess there still isn't anything out there for Wii, which we do have at the house.

I may pick this up at some point for my Xbox 360. I have hear dsome negative and some positive remarks. It wasn't clear to me on the forum I was on (motorsports focused and not game focused) if the bugs were in the console, PC or both versions. Some of the bugs were around odd issues with how the game issues penalties. Such as exiting pit lane, having an AI car mover over and hit you and you get a penalty. That is just an example. I think there are others like that.

Also apparently it doesn't run a full simulation for all of the other cars on track. So if a car is not in sight of you, it runs some other simpler simulation mode. So people are reporting that segment time for the other cars are not accurate. So you can't really tell if you are gaining or loosing on cars in front of you. Some people say a car that is right behind them may be reported as having a much faster lap time even if it didn't gain any. However things like that might only both someone who is really looking for the ultimate in accuracy. I think from a driving perspective, people seem to like it.

It's a Codemasters game, so it can't be all that bad... and if I'm not mistaken, they have an exclusive license for Formula 1 this year.

But if you want the most out of vehicle accuracy, you need to get on iRacing... the 2009 Williams F1 will be released pretty soon (but of course, you won't be able to "simulate" an F1 season or career on iRacing... and you'll have to suffer through some lesser cars to build up your license level before you can begin competing in the car against real people.)

The bad part of the Codemasters bit is that apparently the game engine is based upon one of their Rally titles. So that is why it works well as a single car, but doesn't simulate the other cars that well.

At some point, I am going to get an iRacing setup. :D

That sounds to complicated for me! I want to sit in front of my tv and relax for a few minutes, not be reminded how inept I am at this stuff!

I have been playing F1 2010 for about 3 days, so far I like it. The car feels and drives well, I started with all the driving aids on, and you can still spin out and such if you jump on the throttle and such. With out the driving aids the cars become more challenging to drive but no impossible. Also the graphics are great, and the Rain effects on the car a are pretty cool.

It seems like a pretty well done game.

Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone... will this still be 3D? That should be interesting.
