my 2 favorites are the "death road" in Bolivia and the "best road" in Romania. The Vietnam 90 min special was very interesting as well. Having Hampster ride the pink scooter was a roar. And there's also the 2 episodes where they test drive the Bugati Veyron on the VW closed track. I guess I have more fav's than 2! Needless to say, the DVR is set to record all shows, no matter how old....

I've watched exactly two episodes and I didn't 'get it' on either of them. It wasn't funny in the least, especially since I don't understand the 'brit lingo' they use. The studio audience bit didn't add a thing to the show either IMO. I don't know if they do that every episode or not though.

I didn't see it as an acquired taste. You just need to learn the hosts and their quirks... then it becomes very funny. - AB

I guess I'm asking do I need to watch more episodes in an attempt to 'get it', then maybe I would like it?

Probably not, though I can't begin to comprehend how you could watch an episode of the show and not find it the least bit funny. You may be the only such person on the planet, your pretty "special" VK.

I was going to post this exact episode. I think it was the first one I saw and I still think it's the best.

Trying to figure out what they're saying is part of the fun! I work with a good number of UK based folks, so I hear the accents/slang quite a bit. It's also funny how the Brits tend to be very process driven ... and as Jeremy demonstrates quite often, tend to like their own inventions better than those that are imported ..

Would have been nice to know they were gonna be there, but I'm sure they kept it a secret for a reason.

I don't get it either or find it funny at all. I've watched about 10 different shows in parts. Usually at the hotel when Rob puts it on. I tried at home and after 10-15 minutes I just change the channel. Nonetheless....

Have a great time Donnie! More power too you. And go ahead an bring some slicks and just blister those guys once or twice

No slicks. I'm taking it easy. I love that car too much, and I don't have my transmission mod FULLY completed yet, either. I already lunched one due to lack of oiling and too much track time that way, but it should be fine for a relatively easy hour. I'll push Oak Tree and everything from one to the uphill esses, but that's about it. Too much to lose in hogpen, the uphill esses, and South Bend. And nothing to be gained in roller coaster.

Plus while the setup is the same as for the One Lap, I have a TOTALLY different LSD package now, so I expect it'll be a LITTLE bit odd handling. Should be better, but I may have to make some setup changes to make full use of the better diff.

Top Gear related item. I am sure most of you fans know the drama about Ben Collins fighting to be allowed to get out from under the thumb of BBC. Ben is (was?) the Stig. Anyhow, this article is interesting as it goes into what was going on from Ben's perspective. I found it interesting reading. Particularly in that he talks about how some of the BBC owned publications also played along in the "who is the Stig game" including showing photos of him while at the same time he was supposed to keep his identity as the Stig secret and apparently not getting paid much or and without much in the way of job security (month to month contract)...

Some episodes are much better than others. Here are a few of my favorites that come to mind:

Epic specials:
Driving to the North Pole
Driving across US
Driving out of the jungle in South America
Driving across Africa

Building a car to go across English Channel
Racing campers
Rolling the Red Robin
The most dangerous road in the world.
Nissan GTR testing when Jermey threw is neck/back out
Toyota truck they tried to destroy and could not
Race across London Car vs. Bike vs. Tube

I know there are more, I just can't think of them. You can find them all by searching for "Jeremy Clarkson Collection" if you know where to look. :)
