doood, I know my history. I took ancient history when I was at NC State. Doo not challenge my intellectz.

I did not take film appreciation, however. Didn't need to. I already know Smokey and the Bandit is the greatest movie ever made.

I'm sorry to interrupt this stimulating conversation about American history but, can someone please explain to me how to download the current season of Top Gear. I went to the FinalGear.com site and downloaded a torrent client, but now I'm stuck.

BTW - Rebecca and I think you should show up for the show taping dressed as the Red Stig. It will go well with the car.

Also BTW - I thought the North Koreans or the Iranians bombed Pearl Harbor? I saw it on the innernetz newz :whoknows:

Yeah all the invites can bring "fast looking" cars. As long as they don't show up the 3 idiots on the show or their chosen drivers/cars. It's nothing more than a setup and you can't even talk to those so-called "stars of the show". That's too funny... They should leave that crap on the other side of the pond.

I know you're probably joking, but man it's TOP GEAR and they are coming to our backyard!

It reminds me of my bmx days in college when we'll find out through a friend of a friend that crews would be shooting a video at a local park in Greenville, Wilmington or even Duke campus. We'd hightail it out there with our gear and tag along with the pros like Mirra, Hoffman & others who were actually really cool fellows.

Was it a little fanboiish (new words today)? Yes, but for that spit second where you could see us in the background it was all worth it. 8)

Have fun Donnie!

He just doesn't like it because Jeremy said Corvettes are "Rubbish" :P

Here is a question for you TG fans. Is it like beer in that you have make yourself like it?

I've watched exactly two episodes and I didn't 'get it' on either of them. It wasn't funny in the least, especially since I don't understand the 'brit lingo' they use. The studio audience bit didn't add a thing to the show either IMO. I don't know if they do that every episode or not though.

I didn't see it as an acquired taste. You just need to learn the hosts and their quirks... then it becomes very funny. - AB

Plus the episode does need to be about or feature *something* you care about. I don't think they feature much Chevy Cavalier stuff. ;)

Some episodes are just epic, too, but definitely not all of them. The one where they "raced" the German Top Gear team with those "stacked" cars was without a doubt some of the funniest TV I've ever seen. Oh, and the one where they had to do all the skills tests with the "lorries" (big trucks) with their own prized possessions in the back. There are more...

Agreed :) I like their home built "hybrid" car and the follow on with the 2nd generation ;) While some their stuff is silly, the guys know their stuff. - AB

I guess I'm asking do I need to watch more episodes in an attempt to 'get it', then maybe I would like it?

You just need to put aside any self-respect, as they will bash americans and american cars any chance that they get.
