Yeah all the invites can bring "fast looking" cars. As long as they don't show up the 3 idiots on the show or their chosen drivers/cars. It's nothing more than a setup and you can't even talk to those so-called "stars of the show". That's too funny... They should leave that crap on the other side of the pond. :roll:

Wow, what a cynic. I don't care if they tell me I have a 60MPH speed limit because they want it to look like Simon Cowell could beat me in the econobox, I'd do it. It's Top Gear, and Top Gear is cool. Part of why they are cool is the way they pick on the US, and I'm fine with that. I'm a redneck and I like Jeff Foxworthy, too. *shrug*

It's all speculation that they want cars out there they can outrun with something. It's likely the case, too. If so, that's perfectly fine with me...whatever it is won't pass me like I'm sitting still unless it's got huge power, a good driver, and the setup is perfect to catch me near the end of one of the straights. All possible, and if so I'll still get to say "sweet, that was me on Top Gear." Not a ton of people will get to say that. I mean it's only the most popular car show in the freakin world.

Or maybe they don't use any of the footage at all and I get an hour of free track time. I'm pretty okay with that.

I know you're probably joking, but man it's TOP GEAR and they are coming to our backyard!

It reminds me of my bmx days in college when we'll find out through a friend of a friend that crews would be shooting a video at a local park in Greenville, Wilmington or even Duke campus. We'd hightail it out there with our gear and tag along with the pros like Mirra, Hoffman & others who were actually really cool fellows.

Was it a little fanboiish (new words today)? Yes, but for that spit second where you could see us in the background it was all worth it.

The UK has a population of roughly 61 million. I think the estimates for worldwide viewership when it's new series is something nuts like 350 million people.

A lot of those people aren't in the UK.

400HP 3.8L Porsche Cayman, mostly GT3 RS suspension, 997 front end, some lightening. It'll be on street tires, though. I was tempted to buy some race rubber, but then I'd probably go getting stupid out there.

Congrats and good luck ... agree it would be a hoot to say you were on Top Gear.
I laughed at the episode this week when they did an HPDE type event at Rockingham raceway. Especially when they lined up three abreast to stop all those cars from passing them!

That's awesome guys! Can't wait to watch the episode. I might even have to download it so that I don't have to wait 5 years to see it on BBCA. (They showed an episode from 2005 last week. Yea, that was new. :roll:
