i hope they win quite a few games this season because it really looks like they are gonna get sanctioned. a shame really, i hear this is the best team they have had in years. :whip:

I know you're just trying to stir the pot, but I doubt UNC gets sanctioned. Worst case, the player(s) being investigated won't play this season. If there's something here, it was caught early and it happened in the offseason, which means "UNC" didn't do anything wrong. A few players did something wrong AFTER last season and thus killed their eligibility for THIS season (again, if there's any wrongdoing found).

Yeah, I admit, it's still a little bit of a tarnish if that's what went down, but there's no reason to think the coaching staff did anything dirty. Apparently since those five guys stayed in school instead of going to the NFL like they could have there have been a LOT of sharks in the water in Chapel Hill, and there appears to be a good chance they found some fresh meat. *sigh*

do i really have that kind of reputation Donnie? i suppose you are spot on, this will be a footnote at season's end. aaahhhhh well, a girl can always dream. :P

i'm not a fan, but as one of my favorite local radio personalities always says " at tournament time it's ACC before anything else"

in the meantime. Go Pack

What took you so long? Karl Kauffman sent me 3 emails on this subject before 9:30 this morning.

Plus someone should remind Steve that Emmie is a UNC fan. And Emmie can kick Steve's ass. And she's just mean enough to do it when riled up about UNC. Plus she's like a webmaster and stuff. That's gotta be enough to scare him right there. A Mini-drivin-webmasterin-UNC-fan.

I'm pretty sure that won't even be a game. No running backs, no defense. It's gonna be comical, I think.

it's gonna be ugly Donnie. nothing comical about it. the local media is already offering up Butch Davis's head. sure he shares some responsibility for this fuster-cluck, but the NCCA really needs to restructure their rules IMO.

how, in a purely amateur environment, can agents be so pervasive in the player's lives? if anything the NCCA should be protecting UNC and its student atheletes from these agents rather than penalizing the factory and the product. seriously, agents serve the purpose of making shit loads of cash for themselves first and foremost long before they ever negotiate a deal with the billionaires that own the NFL franchises.

let's hope something positive comes from this.

that and of course, State beats UNC by 20+. :P

You're out of the loop, I think.

The only problem child we know about so far on the agent thing somewhat for sure is Marvin Austin. If it's more than that, it's probably only one or two. The 15 missing for tomorrow are mostly due to an academic cheating problem. Apparently a significant one. *sigh*

i heard something about a tutor, and South Carolina being also involved. apparently another TV personalities' kid. didn't do much for Texas Tech when the kid with ADD had a famous TV dad.

i still think the NCAA is out of touch Donnie. the only reason kids don't "once and done " with football is because the NFL doesn't allow it. so the agents have time to court their prospective clients for a couple of seasons. if the NCAA was concerned about football players they would blow up the whole BCS system. college football has parity because of the NFL. so since college football is a feeder system for the NFL the BCS system only supports the schools not the players. so, schools cheat, lie and steal to get players that will bring them TV and BCS revenue.

do i think Butch Davis should swing for this mess? no, i don't. bush league teams some times don't have the experience to CYA like the big boys do. sad really, it would be cool to have a football powerhouse somewhere between Gainesville and Happy Valley. oh yeah, i forgot. VT.
