its about time.

One of the best short tracks ever, and it was the first to go, when the cookie cutter tracks got churned out in the 90's

March 25, 2010 - Kevin Harvick reopens the track with a Sprint Cup test session
May 15, 2010 - Red Carpet Movie Premier of Red Dirt Rising with Matt Dylan in Concert
July 3, 2010 - Southern Truck and Tractor Pullers Association
Sep. 5, 2010 - PASS Super Late Models-Labor Day Classic (200 laps)
Oct. 3, 2010 - USARacing Pro Cup Series (250 Laps)
Oct. 29 - 31, 2010 - Short Track Shootout Weekend Featuring, Rolling Thunder Modifieds, Late Models, and finishing with the ASA Sunoco National Tour King's Ransom 300
April 7-9, 2011 - Pass Super Late Models (300 Laps) - (tentative dates, official dates will be set after the release of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule which is typically in September)

happy to see this. I was at the last Nascar race at NW, unfortunately had to witness ole Gordan take the checkered. I think that would have been '96 IIRC.

I wish they would of clung to the "old time racing" theme that kept the doors open at Martinsville during the buildup in the mid 90's. I'm not sure if the facilities were up to date then, to handle the crowds, or they simply weren't selling seats. I did hear that Barre purchased it for the dates, but why mothball the track? Up until recently there was grass growing in the cracks of the asphalt. Roush did his driver gameshow thing there but it's pretty much been sitting there.

Seems Wasteful...

Be great if it sticks, and they get at least a truck race... or a series of late model's..
