Maybe an April Fool's joke?

Effective April 1st, the carriage of Speed Channel 148 will be expanded to include customers who have Basic Cable and a digital converter. Basic Cable customers with an HD converter will also receive Speed HD Channel 273.

Note that you do need a STB.

I have written off Speed Channel so conclusively that when I read the title of this thread, I figured TWC had bumped up the throughput on standard Roadrunner accounts.

I haven't watched much of anything on Speed in at least a year. I watched the 24 hours of Daytona, and occasionally I'll check in on an F1 race, but otherwise, I've abandoned it. These days, they should change their name to "The Overhaulin' Channel," or "The Pinks Super Duper All Out Awesome Channel."

And BBC America has Top Gear ...

I still enjoy watching the Rolex series on Speed, especially the GS/ST races.

HD Theater has the Isle of Man TT. Perhaps the best channel ever?
