or explain why the patches lift in NASCAR just like the do in AX at L'burg... fun, fun, fun. They sent Jimmy out to Lowes for some Sacrete. So they may finish sometime tonight, or maybe not

UUUUUGH!!! - the same memo has now bled over into AMA Supercross. The fakeness is so annoying - everyone on the podium regurgitates their rehearsed 'thank you' speech, says how their just having so much fun out there, thanks the lord Jesus Christ for keeping them safe, all the time trying to sell it with a big smile. They look like a bunch of politicians.

i have to admit, when they finally did get around to the finish, it was entertaining.

i can see a drinking game similar to Hi Bob starting if the "FUN" memo continues in effect.

I'll post pics of my road. After we complained about the pothole that ate cars, they came in and "fixed" it. They left the old blacktop pieces that they picked up out of the hole on the side of the road and put a 1/99th" new swatch of blacktop in place of it.

This was in December. It is now just a gravelly place that is already coming apart worse than before. It started coming apart right after the dump truck they used to "fix" it ran over it on the way out, so actually I think that Nascar's patch lasted longer.

Maybe you boys do a better job out in GVegas than in Johnston county

I think I heard one of the announcers say that the track was last paved in 1989.. so it's not QUITE as old as the WWII concrete at Laurinburg, but still pretty old. I wonder if the hole developed on the section of turn 1 over the new tunnel?

new tunnel?

while i didn't listen long enough to hear all of it, i switched my Sat radio to the NASCAR channel Monday and the call-in shows were lit up with complaints from Jim-Bob and Billy Ray about how NASCAR failed horribly by allowing a pothole to form at Daytona. Heaven apparently has no holes in their clouds.

actually i think i heard 1979 on The Bubba the LoveSponge Show today Art. that and Bubba doesn't think Danica deserves her ride. apparently he feels she didn't earn it by working her way thru the feeder series and the short tracks like New Smyrna Speedway as so many of the other women in NASCAR are attempting to do.

where are Gloria Steinem and Gloria Allred when we need them? :P

Yes, the original tunnels under turn 4 Image are not big enough for large haulers, motor homes, etc. These had to be brought in across the track, through gates on the tri-oval and at the end of the back straight.

The new tunnel was built in 2004.
http://www.onhort.com/Smoothing-the-Inf ... rticle5435

The track is built on sand dug out of a swamp. Parts of it (including the tunnels) were under water after heavy rains last summer. It's a wonder there weren't more potholes.

Yeah, like NASCAR doesn't need a shot in the arm, with attendance falling like a rock. The Nationwide series will have higher viewer numbers than the Sprint races. Danica will have all them them Nascar fans eatin' out of her hand. They be likin' them some Danica, now...
