Jeff Greenly of Yocum Ford, Lansdale PA came into work this weekend to find the pricing on the 2011 Ford Mustang GT on his computer. Now take this with a grain of salt since the document featuring the prices is a leaked source – nothing has been officially confirmed by Ford as of yet.

According to Greenly’s pdf, the base 2011 Ford Mustang with a 305-hp 3.7L V6 will start at $22,145. The 412-hp 5.0L V8 2011 Mustang GT will carry a starting price tag of $29,645. The 2011 V6 Mustang Convertible will start at $27,145, while the 2011 5.0L V8 Mustang Convertible will start at $34,645.
We’ll bring you an official press release from Ford as soon as its available.

And this is why the new Camaro sales suck. I'm a GM guy and love the new Camaro, but it's waaaay too pricey IMO. Considering cars like the Mustang are much less you have to really _want_ a Camaro to buy one IMO.

If that Mustang pricing above is accurate, it is almost identical pricing as a new Camaro. http://www.chevrolet.com/vehicles/2010/camaro/build.do Getting a V8 costs a little more, but it also has a little more power. Last year you could get a V8 Camaro for under $30K, I guess they've bumped the price a bit.

Last one I saw here in Wilson was a V6 model and they wanted $33K for it.

Want and get are two different things. The MSRP on a 2010 1SS is $30,750. To me, for the performance, that's pretty reasonable. One plus to the Chevy over the Ford is an independent rear suspension. - AB

That why I was talking MSRP. The one here was advertised at $33K though I'm sure it could be negotiated for less.

I've heard you could get a same year GT for less than $25K which is quite a difference IMO.

Until the cars are apples to apples in performance (2011), I'll spend the extra $5k to get 100 horsepower/lb ft and independent rear. Now for autocross only, I want a Mustang, only because no one makes 20" R compounds. - AB

Don't know if this is the same document/link but the format is VERY consistent with the Ford Order Guides I've seen many times previously.

http://fileden.com/files/2010/1/17/2728 ... eGuide.pdf

This link is from the 412 HP 2011 Mustang thread on SCCA Forums (look in the Stock Forum).

Using the pricing tool on the 2010 Mustang website, the basic pricing is about $1500 higher for the 2011's. I'll be looking for the order guide to show up since a couple of the high dollar ones don't show up for the 2010 web pricing.

FYI, if you care (for some reason) I did a spreadsheet with the different likely/possible gear ratios and tire sizes for "speed in gear" comparisons. It is posted in the same link . . . not that it is relevant for me since I don't even want to think about trying to change tires at an autocross . . . especially ones that big and heavy.

I am officially not paying attention to this thread at all.

Nope. Not at all. No sir! Not me.

Dick - remember that little tire dolly that Ed Gelston used? The tire/wheel sat on top on rollers. He rolled the dolly (which had casters, being a dolly) over to his Camaro, and then he turned a crank to lift the wheel to the correct height, then rotated the wheel on the rollers to line up the lug holes.

I only thought of that every time I changed tires last season. It would have been the next best thing to having Karl Shultz change tires for me :)
